The original wood grain can be kept to enhance the natural feel, and the bark can be polished to give a deep reddish-purple luster.

A heart-shaped harmony between wild cherry bark and Akita-cedar wood

A tray with a heart-like shape from the side. In order to complement something, it is best to pair it with something that is in contrast. A beautiful contrast of two colors is created with cherry bark and Akita-cedars.

An elegant and graceful photo frame “flowering” outwards on the four sides

In Japan, spring is the season for graduation and the start of a new chapter in life. It is a time of farewells and new acquaintances. It is also when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

“Kaba-zaiku (Wild cherry tree bark crafting)” is a traditional art form of Japan that involves the careful crafting of cherry bark. We’ve created a photo frame to commemorate this festive cherry blossom season.

In order to express the elegant and transient nature of the cherry blossoms, the exterior rectangular shape of the frame is curved to look like it is opening outwards. You can add text on the pasteboard to commemorate an event.

Kaba-zaiku, simple and keen, blending into various interior scenes

Simple containers, created by bringing out the characteristics of natural material with highly sophisticated processing technique, blends in with any situation. （It can be also used as a container for tea leaves and dried fruits.）

They are masterpieces with uncompromising quality. Straight lines, edges, and flat surfaces, which are difficult to craft because of their simplicity, are precisely handcrafted with the skills of artisans.

Hybrid case of Kaba-zaiku

Wild cherry bark and walnut veneer are finger jointed to form a cylindrical container.

Although the finger joint design has used to be mostly linear, we made it curved with this BUCHI series.

The joints made of different materials also create a beautiful contrast, giving a sense of the warmth of wood.

The inside of the pen stand is made of felt in which you can store pens, TV remote controls, and glasses without damaging them.
